It's often the same between a French original song and its English version. «Comme d'habitude» describes a timid and cowardly man who has been married to a woman who's probably beautiful and apparently too sociable for him to be comfortable with. But its English version «My Way» is all about a rather heroic man near the end of his life who looks happily back on how he has lived fully up to his own expectations.
